Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for endoscopic skull base surgery through the nose
  • Your surgery requires lifting a tissue flap inside your nose
  • You do not have a lost sense of smell (anosmia) before surgery
  • You have not had any prior sinus, nose, pituitary, or skull base surgery
  • You do not have a neurodegenerative disease (like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's)
  • You do not have long-term sinus inflammation (chronic rhinosinusitis)
