CT scan study of pulse-field ablation for AF

This study compares CT scans taken before and 3 months after atrial fibrillation ablation to see how pulse-field ablation affects lung tissue compared to radiofrequency. If you had AF ablation between 2020 and 2024 with the specified techniques and have the required CT scans, you may be able to help doctors understand long-term effects.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You had atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation using either pulse-field ablation (FARAPULSE) or radiofrequency, performed between 2020 and 2024.
  • You have either paroxysmal (comes and goes) or non-paroxysmal (persistent) AF.
  • You have high-quality CT scans from before your ablation and about 3 months after (plus or minus 2 weeks).
  • You did not receive ethanol (alcohol) injection into the vein of Marshall as part of your treatment.
