- You are between 50 and 90 years old.
- You have age-related cataracts that are quite advanced (grade 4 or higher).
- You are scheduled to have cataract surgery with a new lens implant.
- Your pupil can be dilated to at least 6 mm, and your cornea is healthy enough.
- You have no other serious eye diseases or past eye surgery.
- Your blood pressure and blood sugar are under control, and you have no recent heart or brain events.
