Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have had at least 2 attacks of acute pancreatitis or have chronic pancreatitis (mild or moderate scarring of the pancreas).
  • Your fecal elastase (a stool test for pancreas function) was 50 or higher in the last year.
  • You are not allergic to pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy or the test itself.
  • You are not taking certain medications (like orlistat or GLP-1 receptor agonists) that affect fat absorption.
  • You have not had pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy for more than 5 days in the last month, and no recent acute pancreatitis attack (within 90 days).
