New scan test for scarring in blood cancers

Who can take part

  • You must have a diagnosis of essential thrombocythemia, polycythemia vera, pre-fibrotic primary myelofibrosis, overt primary myelofibrosis, or secondary myelofibrosis.
  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must be well enough to be up and about more than half the day (ECOG 0-3).
  • If you are having the PET scan, you cannot have taken cytoreductive drugs (like hydroxyurea) in the last 3 months.
  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You cannot be currently taking JAK inhibitors (like ruxolitinib) or interferon.
