Who can take part

  • You must have either polycythemia vera (PV) or myelofibrosis (MF) diagnosed by specific World Health Organization criteria.
  • You must have a specific genetic change called JAK2 V617 mutation in your blood cells.
  • You should be generally active and able to care for yourself (ECOG score 0-2).
  • You must have adequate kidney, liver, and bone marrow function.
  • You cannot have had prior treatment for PV or MF (like other drugs, stem cell transplant, or spleen removal) that would conflict with this study.
