Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You need a confirmed Pi*ZZ genotype (a specific genetic type causing alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency) and low levels of the protective AAT protein in your blood.
  • You must not have used AAT augmentation therapy (infusions) in the last month and agree not to use it during the study.
  • You cannot have smoked or vaped for at least 6 months.
  • Your lung function (FEV1) must be at least 40% of what is expected for your age and height.
  • You must not have severe liver scarring or other serious health conditions like uncontrolled heart disease or active infections.
