Who can take part

  • You are 20 years or older.
  • Your heart stopped outside the hospital and you need CPR in the emergency room.
  • The cardiac arrest was not caused by an injury or certain conditions like major bleeding, aortic emergencies, tension pneumothorax, cardiac tamponade, or a pulmonary embolism.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You do not have a signed 'Do Not Resuscitate' order.
  • You do not require special procedures like ECPR or REBOA, and you can have TEE or a femoral arterial catheter placed.
