- You are between 18 and 60 years old.
- You are in good general health (classified as ASA I or II).
- You are scheduled for a primary septoplasty (first-time nose surgery to fix a deviated septum).
- You do not have any known heart rhythm problems or heart conditions.
- You are not taking beta-blockers or antiarrhythmic heart medications.
- You have not had previous nose surgery and are not having any other procedures done at the same time.
