Tracking jaw movements to guide breathing tube removal in ICU

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are in the ICU because your lungs suddenly failed (acute respiratory failure)
  • You have been on a breathing machine for more than 24 hours
  • You are awake and not receiving continuous sedation medicines
  • You have at least one of these: age over 65, or heart problems like weak pumping or irregular rhythm, or lung conditions like COPD, stiff lungs, or obesity-related breathing trouble
