  • You have acute respiratory failure with low oxygen or high carbon dioxide levels
  • You are currently using a breathing support device like high-flow oxygen, CPAP, or BiPAP
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have severe facial injuries, a pacemaker, or need immediate help to breathe
