This trial tests a blood pressure monitor that can also detect atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). You may join if you are 22 or older, have an average-sized arm, and either have been diagnosed with AF or have never had it — as long as you don't have a pacemaker or defibrillator.

Who can take part

  • You must be 22 years or older.
  • Your upper arm must be between 22 and 42 centimeters (about 8.5 to 16.5 inches) around.
  • Either you have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF) by a doctor, OR you have never been told you have AF.
  • You cannot be pregnant.
  • You cannot have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator.
  • You must be able to cooperate with a blood pressure cuff and an ECG (a sticker-like test for your heart's rhythm).
