Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older
- You have chronic liver disease and your platelet count is below 50 (a blood test will confirm)
- You have a planned minor procedure or surgery (like a biopsy) in the next 1-2 weeks, but not major surgery like open-heart or brain surgery
- You are generally healthy enough to be up and about (ECOG score 0 or 1)
- If you could become pregnant, you'll need a negative pregnancy test and use birth control during the study and for 3 months after
- You cannot have a history of blood clots, serious heart problems, or other conditions that cause low platelets
