Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have end-stage kidney disease and have been on dialysis through an arm access for more than one year.
  • You are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) and need continuous dialysis (CRRT) for at least 24 hours.
  • You have a working arm access (fistula or graft) that can be used for dialysis.
  • You are expected to be on a breathing machine or heavily sedated for at least 12 hours.
  • Your arm access has adequate blood flow as checked by ultrasound at the start.
