Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older and scheduled for a specific type of pancreas surgery (PPPD) to remove a tumor in the pancreas, bile duct, or ampulla of Vater.
- You have not had any stomach surgery before, and you do not have a condition that severely slows stomach emptying (gastroparesis).
- You do not have any reason why a balloon dilation or an endoscopic procedure during surgery would be unsafe for you.
- Your overall health is good enough for surgery (not in the highest risk category, ASA IV or higher).
- Your surgery is planned (not an emergency), and your tumor can be removed completely.
