  • You have colorectal cancer or a large polyp that can't be removed by endoscopy
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is under 35
  • You are willing to sign a consent form
  • Your tumor is not stage T4 (not deeply invading nearby organs)
  • You have not had previous extensive abdominal surgery that would make this approach difficult
  • You have no other cancer or distant spread, active infection, or bleeding problems
