Who can take part
- You must be 40 years old or older.
- You are having your first total knee replacement on the affected knee.
- About 4 weeks after surgery, your knee bends less than 105 degrees.
- Your doctor has said you might need another surgery to help your knee bend, but has chosen to try non-surgical treatment first for at least 2 months.
- You do not have advanced rheumatoid arthritis or a nerve problem in your leg.
- You have not had a hip replacement on the same side as the knee, and you live within 2 hours of the study site.
