Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must be in the ICU with a diagnosis of sepsis (a severe infection response).
  • You must not have a blood cancer or be getting chemotherapy.
  • You must not be on long-term immune-suppressing drugs (e.g., after transplant or high-dose steroids).
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Your ICU stay must be longer than 24 hours.
