Who can take part

  • You need to need a central line (a long IV) for your medical care.
  • Your heart must be in a regular rhythm (sinus rhythm).
  • You must have a healthy vein in your upper arm that can be seen clearly on ultrasound.
  • You cannot have a pacemaker or other heart device that affects the heart's rhythm.
  • No skin infections, burns, or other issues at the catheter insertion area.
  • No blood clots or significant vein damage in the arm to be used.
