Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have a history of alcohol use disorder and your liver tests show signs of alcoholic hepatitis (elevated AST and ALT with AST > ALT).
  • Your liver disease is not severe enough to need steroids or pentoxifylline.
  • You can stop drinking alcohol completely for the study.
  • You do not have other liver diseases (like hepatitis B, C, or non-alcoholic fatty liver), and you are not obese or have significant metabolic syndrome.
