Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old
- You have severe alcoholic hepatitis (Maddrey score 32 or higher)
- You have been drinking heavily (over 60g alcohol/day for women, 80g for men) for at least 3 months
- You are not in the ICU or on a kidney dialysis machine
- You do not have other liver diseases like hepatitis or HIV, active cancer, or a history of liver transplant
