This study tests whether taking caffeine in the morning can help young men with weight-training experience think more clearly and perform better during repeated sprints. You will be asked to complete cognitive and exercise tests after taking either caffeine or a placebo.

Who can take part

  • Be a healthy adult aged 18 to 35
  • Have no current injuries
  • Have at least 2 years of weight or strength training experience
  • Not take any medications (including anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen) during the study
  • Drink little caffeine — less than about 2 cups of coffee a day
  • Have no preference about training time (morning vs evening is fine)
