Who can take part

  • You are a woman between 18 and 65 years old
  • You are scheduled for a laparoscopic hysterectomy (uterus removal through small cuts) under general anesthesia
  • You are in good enough health to be classified as ASA I, II, or III (a standard rating of physical fitness before surgery)
  • No brain or nerve conditions like stroke or epilepsy
  • No serious eye problems (glaucoma, retinal disease) or blood vessel disease in the brain
  • No severe heart or lung disease, and no body mass index over 35
