Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have slow-transit constipation or an enlarged colon (megacolon), and you are scheduled for elective colon surgery.
- You are at risk of malnutrition, which your doctor checks with a standard screening tool (NRS2002 score of 3 or higher).
- You either receive fish oil nutrition through an IV for at least 3 days before surgery, or you start IV nutrition for the first time after surgery.
- You are willing to participate and sign a consent form.
