Who can take part
- You are pregnant and having a C-section (either planned or emergency)
- You have at least one risk factor for heavy bleeding, such as a previous C-section, carrying twins or more, too much amniotic fluid, a large baby (over 4 kg), anemia, a body mass index (BMI) over 30 at booking, a history of heavy bleeding after childbirth, fibroids, adenomyosis, placenta previa (non-accreta), or infection of the amniotic sac (chorioamnionitis)
- You do not have any of the following: placenta accreta spectrum, allergy to tranexamic acid, history of seizures, kidney disease, blood clots, or conditions/treatments that raise your risk of blood clots
