Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with acute cholecystitis (inflamed gallbladder) using standard criteria.
  • You are scheduled to have emergency keyhole surgery to remove your gallbladder during this hospital stay.
  • You are able to give written consent before the surgery.
  • You are not allergic to indocyanine green (ICG) dye, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Your surgery is planned as keyhole surgery, not open surgery.
