Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been referred for possible or not-yet-diagnosed interstitial lung disease (ILD) — a group of lung conditions that cause scarring.
  • Either a CT scan shows signs of lung scarring not caused by another disease, OR you have ongoing shortness of breath or a chronic cough with other clues (like crackling sounds, finger clubbing, low lung function, or a family history of ILD).
  • You have not already had a complete workup for ILD (chest CT, lung function tests, and blood tests) and you have not been given a firm ILD diagnosis by another doctor.
  • You are not currently very sick (for example, with a lung infection or sudden worsening of your lung disease) that would prevent you from completing the study procedures.
