Fetal embolization trial for vein of Galen malformation

Who can take part

  • Pregnant woman carrying a fetus with vein of Galen malformation confirmed by MRI
  • Fetal vein size in the brain is 7 mm or more on MRI
  • Fetal age is at least 34 weeks at the time of treatment
  • No severe brain damage in the fetus (more than 10% of the brain affected)
  • No life-threatening organ damage in the fetus (like heart failure causing fluid buildup)
