  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for a major liver surgery (removing a large part of the liver).
  • You have not had a bad reaction to methylprednisolone before.
  • You are not on long-term steroid pills or shots within the last 30 days (except for certain allowed uses like inhalers or skin creams).
  • You do not have serious kidney problems or need dialysis.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
