Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You are scheduled for elective heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine (such as bypass, valve repair, or replacement).
- You do not have severe kidney disease (creatinine >1.3 mg/dL or GFR <80).
