Who can take part
- You are a woman 18 or older
- You have early-stage invasive breast cancer or ductal carcinoma in situ (abnormal cells in the milk ducts) that may be in more than one area
- You are a candidate for nipple-sparing mastectomy (breast removal that keeps the nipple) with immediate implant reconstruction
- You have small to medium breasts with no more than mild sagging (grade 2 or less)
- You do not have certain conditions like skin or nipple involvement, spread to lymph nodes, inflammatory breast cancer, or previous breast surgery or radiation
- You are not a heavy smoker, do not have uncontrolled diabetes, your BMI is 30 or less, and you are not pregnant
