Who can take part
- You have a broken hip (intertrochanteric femur fracture) scheduled for planned, non-emergency surgery
- You are between 30 and 85 years old
- Your overall health is fair to good (ASA score I, II, or III—your doctor can tell you this)
- You don't have a serious bleeding disorder or active infection where the nerve block would be placed
- You can understand the study and consent to participate
- You will not have general anesthesia or additional surgeries during this procedure
