  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are having a planned (elective) liver transplant at Medical University of Warsaw
  • Your liver donor is from a brain-dead donor
  • Your MELD score (a measure of liver disease severity) is below 35
  • You do not have sudden, severe liver failure
  • You do not require insulin injections for diabetes
