Who can take part
- 18 years or older
- Confirmed bacterial infection of the heart valve
- Low hemoglobin (red blood cell protein) at 6.0 mmol/L or below
- Stable condition after at least 10 days of IV antibiotics (and 7 days after surgery if you had valve surgery)
- No fever for at least 2 days and no active infection signs in recent blood tests
- Able to walk and complete a 6-minute walking test
