Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You need surgery to remove a suspicious or confirmed cancerous skin lesion under local anesthesia (numbing medicine)
  • You are willing to give informed consent to participate
  • You do not have diabetes (type 1 or type 2)
  • You do not have ongoing kidney problems or blood vessel circulation issues
  • You have not had radiation therapy, long-term steroid use, or immunosuppressant medications
