Alcohol and Heart Rhythm: A Monitoring Study

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are scheduled for a procedure to treat atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter (abnormal heart rhythms) for the first time
  • You drink at least 3 drinks per week, or score 3 or higher on an alcohol-screening questionnaire
  • You are willing and able to wear a ScanWatch2 smartwatch throughout the study
  • You speak and read Danish fluently
  • You have a Danish social security number and can give informed consent

This study is testing how well a special smartwatch called Corsano CardioWatch 287-2 can detect irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation) compared to standard heart monitoring.
