Who can take part
- Child must be between birth and 18 years old
- Child has had persistent low blood sugar lasting more than 3 days, or cannot keep blood sugar above 45 mg/dL despite high-dose glucose treatment
- Child has had repeated episodes (more than 2) of low blood sugar with symptoms like shakiness, sweating, or confusion
- The low blood sugar is not caused by temporary newborn stress (like prematurity or infection)
- Child is not on insulin therapy for diabetes and has not accidentally taken diabetes medication
- Low blood sugar is not due to malnutrition, recent illness with vomiting/diarrhea, intense exercise, or fasting
