New Lithium Capsule Study for Bipolar I

Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 65 years old and have Bipolar I Disorder.
  • Your mood has been stable recently (no current manic or severe depression).
  • You have no recent suicide attempts (within the past 2 years) and no suicidal thoughts in the past month.
  • You are on a stable mood medication for at least 30 days (or untreated if stable) and willing to stay on that regimen.
  • You can safely have an MRI (no metal implants, pacemaker, or other devices).
  • You must avoid alcohol, poppy seeds, quinine, caffeine, and certain fruits before and during the trial.
