Who can take part
- Confirmed diagnosis of gluteal tendon damage (tendinosis) by imaging—ultrasound or MRI—and physical exam
- Symptoms lasting longer than 3 months
- You've tried at least 3 months of nonsurgical treatment (physical therapy, rest, etc.) without enough improvement
- No full-thickness tears (complete breaks) in the affected tendon
- No steroid injection into this tendon in the past 3 months
- No previous needle tenotomy procedure on this same tendon
