Testing Nerandomilast for Scarring Lung Disease

This study tests whether a new drug called nerandomilast can slow down scarring in the lungs for people with certain types of fibrosing interstitial lung disease (a condition where lung tissue becomes thick and scarred). You may qualify if you have lung scarring that is getting worse and haven't tried this or similar drugs before.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and can provide informed consent
  • You have been diagnosed with fibrosing interstitial lung disease (but not the specific type called IPF) within the last 3 years
  • Your CT scan shows lung scarring affecting at least 10% of your lungs
  • Your lung function test (FVC) is at least 45% of normal, and your oxygen transfer capacity (DLCO) is at least 25% of normal
  • If you take immune-suppressing medications for another condition, you must have been on a stable dose for at least 12 weeks
  • You have not previously taken nerandomilast, nintedanib, or pirfenidone
