Blood Sugar Control After Brain Surgery to Prevent Infection

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are having a planned (non-emergency) brain or nervous system surgery
  • You have not had any surgery in the last 30 days
  • You do not currently have an active infection anywhere in your body
  • Your blood sugar is not severely elevated (below 600 mg/dL)
  • You do not have diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious diabetes complication)
