Hands-on therapy for advanced lung scarring
Part of Lungs & breathing clinical trials.
This trial tests whether osteopathic manipulative techniques—hands-on physical treatments—can help patients with progressive pulmonary fibrosis (lung scarring that gets worse over time). The goal is to see if these techniques improve breathing and lung function.

This study tests if gentle hands-on therapy (osteopathic manipulative medicine) can help people on a breathing machine (ventilator) start breathing on their own faster. It's for adults who are stable but not making progress weaning off the ventilator.
This study tests whether gentle osteopathic (hands-on) manipulations can improve heart rate variability (a measure of heart health) in people with stage 4 lung cancer who are starting chemotherapy for the first time. It aims to see if these safe, non-invasive techniques can help your body handle treatment better.
This study tests if a supervised exercise program, 3 times a week, helps people with lung scarring (fibrosing interstitial lung disease). It may improve your breathing and quality of life.
This trial tests whether a rehabilitation program can help people with pulmonary fibrosis improve their daily function and quality of life.
This trial tests a breathing treatment called Oscillation and Lung Expansion (OLE) therapy. It is for people on a breathing machine who have a collapsed area in the lung (atelectasis) and a lot of phlegm. The goal is to help open the lungs and clear mucus more easily.
This study tests a home-based exercise and health coaching program for people with scarring in their lungs (fibrotic ILD). The goal is to see if doing rehab at home, with support from a coach, can help you feel better and breathe easier.
