Who can take part

  • You are pregnant with one baby (not twins or multiples)
  • You are between 24 and 31 weeks pregnant
  • Your baby is smaller than expected for how far along you are, with blood-flow problems shown on ultrasound
  • Your water has not broken and your baby's heart is beating normally
  • You have not taken pregnancy-support medications (like blood thinners or aspirin) in the past month
  • You are willing to take melatonin pills and come for study visits
