Two ways to fix cavities between baby molars

Who can take part

  • Your child can cooperate during dental treatment and sit still for procedures
  • You're willing to have your child come back for follow-up visits over the study period
  • Your child has moderate to low cavity risk (assessed by a caries risk test)
  • The cavity is on the side of a baby back tooth with no signs of nerve damage
  • X-rays show the cavity reaches only the outer third of the tooth's inner layer (dentin)
  • The cavity is classified as ICDAS stage 3 or 4 (moderate to more advanced decay)
