Who can take part

  • You must have a genetic diagnosis of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), confirmed by blood test if not already documented
  • Your lung function must be moderately reduced (FEV₁ between 25–80% of predicted), consistent with COPD stages II–IV
  • You cannot have had a severe lung flare-up in the 4 weeks before starting the trial
  • You must be willing to stop any current alpha-1 antitrypsin treatment and switch to the study drug for the duration
  • You cannot have had lung surgery (except biopsy) in the past year, or be waiting for a lung or liver transplant
  • If you are a woman who can become pregnant, you must use reliable birth control throughout the study
