Brain Stimulation for Hard-to-Treat Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Who can take part

  • You are 18–65 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder)
  • You tried at least one SSRI medication (a common OCD drug) at a full dose for long enough, but it didn't help enough
  • Your OCD symptoms are moderate to severe (Y-BOCS score of 20 or higher—a standard symptom scale)
  • You have kept your current medications the same for at least 2 months and agree to keep them steady during the study
  • You have no metal implants in your head/neck, pacemakers, or prior brain surgery that would make TMS unsafe
