Who can take part
- Child is between 1 and 6 years old and weighs at least 10 kg (about 22 pounds)
- Child is scheduled for an elective (planned, non-emergency) sedated bronchoscopy—a procedure where doctors look inside the breathing tubes while the child is asleep
- The procedure is expected to take 45 minutes or less
- Child's oxygen level is at least 95% on room air before the procedure
- Child does not have a history of collapsed lung, airway abnormalities, or difficult airway issues
- Child does not have bleeding disorders, heart/kidney/liver problems, or allergy to propofol or sufentanil (sedation medicines)
