Who can take part

  • Age 18–80 years
  • Early-stage lung cancer (stage IA) with a tumor 2 cm or smaller
  • Tumor is solid and located in the inner two-thirds of your lung (deep-seated)
  • Good overall health and heart/lung function (at least 60% of normal breathing capacity)
  • No cancer spread to other parts of the body or lymph nodes
  • Have not had previous surgery on the same side of your lungs
