Brain Stimulation and Writing for PTSD Recovery

This trial tests whether repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (a non-invasive brain treatment using magnetic pulses) combined with expressive writing can reduce post-traumatic stress symptoms. If you've experienced trauma and have lingering stress, this study may help.

Who can take part

  • Age 18–65 years old
  • Have experienced at least one traumatic or highly stressful event at some point in your life
  • Score 24 or higher on a PTSD symptom assessment (IES-R scale)
  • Your trauma symptoms are not caused by another medical or mental health condition
  • Not currently receiving psychological therapy or PTSD medication (must pause treatment to enroll)
  • No metal implants in or around the head, history of seizures, or severe brain injury
