  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are on a breathing machine (ventilator) with controlled breathing mode
  • You have moderate to severe ARDS—a serious lung condition where oxygen levels in your blood are very low
  • Your lungs show signs of injury on imaging (like X-rays or CT scans)
  • You meet ARDS criteria within the last 24 hours and can be enrolled quickly
